Koconut Grove is a Authentic South Indian Food restaurant in Chester . The popular belief is that Indian food is very spicy and hot. In order to be able to satisfy all their customers, they offer different levels of spicing for almost all of the items on the menu. The knowledgeable and friendly staff will be happy to familiarise you with the various levels of spicing and also assist you in the selection of your lunch or dinner menu. Chester Zoo is a 15 minute drive away.
Atmosphere – They had a decoration refit in July 2022, the place now looks light, modern and airy. I liked the pictures of Kerala in South India. The staff were friendly and talked about Kerala once I mentioned the refit and the pictures. It’s nice to know about where the food originates from and I now I quite fancy taking a trip to Kerala! We has our meal on a Wednesday at 6pm expecting it to be quiet during the week but before we knew it the restaurant was nearly full so there was a nice lively atmosphere. I highly recommend booking a table, even during the week.

Food Options – There is plenty of choice on the menu and this includes plenty of choice for vegetarians. I have had the vegetable mixed curry a few times and it is still my favourite. You won’t find your usual Balti curry here as they offer Southern Indian cuisine so be prepared for new, exciting and interesting new dishes. Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free and dairy free options are available. There are also plenty of drink options which include Cobra and Malabar IPA on draft. A good selection of white, red and rose wines, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails/mocktails. On Sunday there is a special lunch buffet between 12:00pm and 4:00pm and is £11.95 per head. They also offer a takeaway service.
Hightlight of the Restaurant – The restaurant specialises in Dosas, a delicious savoury crispy pancake, made from a fermented batter of rice and lentils. This dish is served with coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar. There is a good selection of fillings. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a tasty and interesting meal and a bit different to your usual curry house.
