The Zuger family’s commitment to catering dates back to the 1960s when Swiss-born Doris Zuger turned her talent for home-cooking to good effect at a hotel in Wallasey. In 1973 when her children had left school, the family bought the Dresden Hotel in Bromborough and soon built up an enviable reputation. In October 2006 this materialised as Zuger’s of Bromborough – a tea room and confectioners with a strong continental flavour. This was followed by Zuger’s of Chester in 2009. The Bromborough and Chester branches operate on a first-come-first-serve basis, bookings are usually not necessary, however, it is advisable to book in advance for our Thursday and Friday evenings. There may be a queue at the busiest of times, but please be assured it’s well worth the wait.
