This year, Cardiff Christmas Market takes place from Thursday November 14th until Monday December 23rd 2024. For over 30 years there has a been a Christmas Market in Cardiff City Centre.
The stalls will be open between the following times:
- Monday to Saturday – 10am till 6pm
- Sunday – 10am till 5pm
The stalls will be located on St John Street, Working Street, Trinity Street and the Hayes. This well established Christmas Market sited in the heart of Cardiff City Centre has been organised and successfully run for 30 years. It is a unique visitor attraction and offers an alternative shopping experience as you are buying original work directly from the makers themselves. Each year there is an extensive rolling programme of over 200 individual businesses selling a wide variety of diverse arts and crafts interspersed with seasonal food and drink.

Parking at Cardiff Christmas Market
Cardiff has numerous pay and display and NCP car parks located throughout the City.
As you enter the City Centre there are electronic boards displaying up-to-date information on car park capacities and availability.
Cardiff also operates several Park & Rides across the city.
Travelling by Car
Cardiff is very accessible from both ends of the M4 as it runs through the north of the City.
There are several junctions where you can exit to get to the city but J32 is the most direct route into the centre itself. Access from The Valleys is best via the A470 and the M4 for travellers from West Wales.
If you are travelling from the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland then the best route is via the M6, M5 and M50/M4.
To visit Cardiff from the South and South West of England the route is by the M5 and M4. From London and Heathrow airport, it is an easy drive along the M4.
Travelling by Train
If you are travelling to Cardiff via train then you want to arrive at the main train station, Cardiff Central Station.
Trains to this station can be caught from across the UK; London Paddington has a train departing to Cardiff every 30 mins. The station is located right at the heart of the city and is a 5 minute walk from the Christmas Market. Please see the map for a walking route from the station to the Christmas Market.
Travelling by Bus
Information on travelling to the Christmas Market by bus will be available on the Cardiff Bus website at www.cardiffbus.com where you can also download their free app to get real time information for your bus route and much more.
If you are travelling via coach (National Express, Greyhound) then due to the closure for redevelopment of Cardiff Central Bus Station all coach departures and arrivals in Cardiff are made from/to Sophia Gardens (CF11 9HW). It is then only a 15 minute walk in order to reach the start of the Cardiff Christmas Market in St John Street.
